This stores offers Department 56 collectibles, jewelry, nostalgia products from the 50's and 60's, fairy garden accessories, paper products ( Greeting cards ), Craft supplies, vintage clothing and antiques, Children's Bubble toys and dress up clothing.

We do sell worldwide on our Webstore. Our local traffic comes from Towson, Catonsville, Columbia, Frederick, Annapolis, Baltimore. 

History


Founded in 1980The business was started in 1980 by Janet Vanderlipp and Nancy Vanderlipp Gibson. These two Victorian style woman designed and made all of their products : from Victorian laced pillows that were embellished with antique doilies to plush Unicorns.  After a few years of doing Craft shows and Fairs we decided to house our business in the Historic district of Ellicott City. In 1985 we had the opportunity to purchase the oldest  and largest property at 8044 Main Street. After we purchased the property we had to renovate the space so it was suitable as retail store. The grand building was built as a Wayside Inn and Tavern in 1771. The Forget-Me-Not Factory now occupies 9500 sq ft of this is whimsical and magical giftware store. As  a designation store that is located in Historic Ellicott City and across the street from the oldest railroad station in the US- the B&O railroad Museum. Our store houses three floors of merchandise that are filled with a huge collection of Department 56 with year round Christmas, Halloween ,and Harry Potter displays. This enchanted store offers, dragons, fairy garden houses and landscape accessories, nostalgic products, antiques, jewelry, large assortment of bubble toys, unicorns and a huge host of decorative Halloween products and craft supplies. You'l find fairies controlled by magic wands , pixie silks, and fairy dust. To complete your transformation you'll the selection of crazy hats: Wizard hats, Happy Potter, Alice in Wonderland, Leprechaun, Pirate, Period Top hats, Princess tiaras. It's easy to be entertained at the store since we have offer Merlin the talking fortune teller who reveals your fortune after depositing $1.00. Many of our customer call the store the Museum of Everything where you can get a happy fix at no charge. When you get to our 3rd floor  you will experience Molly our player piano where you can deposit 25 cents to listen to take me out to the ball game and 9 other nostalgic tunes, During the warmer months- March thru October you will be greeted in front of the store by Barry the Bubbleman who demonstrates the art of bubble making for children of all ages. He invites those who watch to participate and even better to take photo's or selfies while blowing bubbles. According to the holiday the bubbleman will dress for the occasion. For example a Leprechaun on St Patty's Day, Madhatter looking for Alice, Father Christmas delights the children by passing out his magical wish dust. Barry's slogan? Play with bubbles and forget your troubles. We at the Forget-Me-Not Factory are customer oriented and try to create a WOW shopping experience that the shopper will not Forget. Just like the name of our store ***Forget-Me-Not Factory***. After 45 years in business we still enjoy the smiles we see when our customers experience our land of Enchantment.
