Founded in 2023I’ve been an environmental & climate activist for a lonnng time and have tried to work in industries over the past decade that work towards environmental solutions. So after working for a commercial solar company for seven years, I decided I wanted to change things up & work at an eco shop. The few eco shops I’ve been to (there aren’t that many!) always have chill atmospheres while selling products that are better for you & the planet. In the summer of 2023 I took a trip down to the Carolinas & happened to go to a super cool surf shop that’s been open since the late 60s. Cool vibe, surf hippie decor. When I left that shop I decided I was gonna open an eco shop with the same kind of feel, and that it would be a give-back shop. A few weeks later, I incorporated & started looking for a retail space. A small space happened to open up a few weeks after I started looking so I snapped it up, signing a lease within the week and started ordering inventory. I opened the door for business the morning of October 21, 2023, got my first sale within the first few minutes & haven’t looked back. In March of 2024, the shop became a 1% for the Planet member.
