It makes me so happy to finally see my favorite building in historic Ellicott City the Caplan’s Building reopen. It is a shame that they had to remove the back but something is better than nothing!

We’re honored to steward the historic Caplan’s Building and the pieces of its past that were so thoughtfully preserved as part of the community’s recovery and flood mitigation efforts, with everyone’s safety in mind. We’re also thrilled to be a recipient of Preservation Maryland’s Heritage Fund grant, which will help us document and share the building’s history with future generations.
