One of the most quietly brilliant pianists alive performs at CMM just days before his Carnegie Hall appearance. His all-Brahms-and-Schubert program is a journey into the deepest chambers of the Romantic imagination, moving through three collections of Brahms’ late piano pieces to Schubert’s turbulent, searching Piano Sonata in C Minor. The day also includes a pre-concert screening of legendary filmmaker Bruno Monsaingeon’s Unquiet Traveller, an acclaimed documentary that follows Anderszewski on a concert tour via train through his native Poland.
