Join artists and art lovers for this beloved plein air paint-out and exhibit celebrating the charm and beauty of Historic Ellicott City. Watch artists painting throughout the historic district while you stroll scenic streets, shop local businesses, and enjoy local dining.

Event Schedule

Thursday–Sunday, June 4–7 | All Day
Juried Artists and Open Paint participants will paint throughout Historic Ellicott City.

Monday, June 8 | 6–8 PM
Juried Exhibit Reception & Awards Ceremony
📍 Capitoline Center (Historic Circuit Courthouse Building, 8360 Court Ave)
Free and open to the public.

Exhibit Dates

June 9–August 1 (closed July 3 & 4)
The Paint It! Ellicott City 2026 exhibit will be on view in Gallery I at the Capitoline Center.

Gallery Hours:
Monday–Friday: 10 AM–8 PM, Saturday: 10 AM–4 PM; Sunday: 12–4 PM

Open Paint Participation

Artists of all skill levels and ages are invited to participate in Open Paint.

Artwork created by Open Paint participants will be featured in an exhibit at the Howard County Welcome Center from June 29–August 12, with a reception on July 1 from 5–7 PM.

Registration is $10.
